Professor Emmanuel Chinedum Ibezim (JP, FPSN, FNIIA, MAW, MWAME) is a Professor of Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Microbiology/Biotechnology at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a Fellow of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria. He hails from Atta, Ikeduru, Owerri, Imo State. His area of expertise includes pharmaceutical excipients development, drug discovery, molecular modeling/quantitative structure activity relationship (QSAR), drug/drug and food/drug interactions, bioequivalence and quality assurance studies. He has authored 4 professional books, 9 non-professional books, published about 214 (two hundred and fourteen) scientific papers in reputed international and national journals and has contributed several book chapters. Professor Ibezim has delivered papers in more than one hundred and thirty (130) international and national conferences and has traveled to several continents for collaborative research, visiting such countries as United States of America, Brazil, Argentina, Israel, India, to mention these few. He has successfully supervised more than 11 doctoral students and 31 Masters students, with many others currently being supervised. He had been Visiting Professor to the University of Uyo, Delta State University and Enugu State University of Technology, had served severally in NUC and PCN Accreditation Teams, as well as Undergraduate/Postgraduate External Examiner or Professorial Assessor to University of Uyo, Ahmadu Bello University, University of Benin, Madonna University, University of Jos, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Igbinedion University, University of Portharcourt, NIPRD, Delta State University Abraka and Niger Delta University Yenagoa. He had been a one- time Dean of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, two time Head of Pharmaceutics, pioneer Head of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology and two- time Associate Dean at UNN and is currently the Chairman of University of Nigeria Drug Production Company, Chairman/Member of several University Committees and Vice Chairman, Chukwukadibia Mutual Health Insurance Scheme. Professor Ibezim is the Editor in Chief of Journal of Pharmaceutical and Allied Sciences, was one-time Editor in Chief of Nigerian Journal of Pharmaceutical Research and sits on the Editorial board of 14 other journals. He heads two Research Groups and is currently the National Chairman, Nigeria Association of Pharmacists in Academia (NAPA), having earlier served as her National Editor In Chief. He was a one time Director of the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) and recipient of several honours/awards including the prestigious FIP Travel Grant, TWAS Fellowships, CV Raman International Fellowship, TETFund Grants, UNN Best Dean Award (2016) as well as Mention in Marquis Who is Who in American Science and Technology. He is also mentioned in the 2001 Outstanding Scientists of the 21st Century and is a Biographee in the 2002 International Directory of Distinguished Leadership, USA.
